Xbox Profile Badges Reach 88, With Some Not Achievable Until 2042

Microsoft's Xbox platform has expanded its profile badge collection to 88 distinct icons, offering gamers a new way to showcase their history and achievements on the service. The update, highlighted by Team Xbox in recent Insider builds, includes a new badge commemorating early Xbox One adopters from 2013. While many badges are attainable today, others remain out of reach due to future dates or retirement.

According to a detailed index by XCT.live, a dedicated Xbox tracking website, the 88 badges are categorized into three main groups. Fifteen badges relate to gamerscore milestones, ranging from 1,000 points to 10 million. Another 40 badges recognize tenure on Xbox Live, though several, including the "40 years on Xbox Live" badge, are not yet achievable. That particular badge will only become available on November 15, 2042, according to XCT.live's analysis.

The remaining 33 badges include a mix of easily obtainable and extremely rare or retired awards. Some, like the Xbox Live Gold badge, were granted before the service's transition to Game Pass Ultimate. Others were reserved for Microsoft employees involved in specific projects, such as console development. XCT.live notes that certain badges, like participation in the Xbox Live team in 2002, are exceptionally rare and no longer attainable. Retired badges and those tied to discontinued services further complicate collection efforts.

While not all 88 badges are currently accessible, the full list provides insight into Xbox's evolving recognition system.
