Xbox Game Pass Adds Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War joins Xbox Game Pass, becoming the sixth Call of Duty title available on the subscription service.

Xbox Game Pass has expanded its library with the addition of 2020's Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, the popular title is available to subscribers of Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium, and PC Game Pass, alongside support for cloud streaming.
Set during the Cold War era in 1981, Black Ops Cold War follows Russell Adler and his team as they track down a spy named Perseus. Beyond its campaign, the game features traditional multiplayer modes and the popular Zombies cooperative experience. Upon its original release, the title became the best-selling game overall in the United States for 2020.
Following Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard, expectations arose that back-catalog Call of Duty games would flood the subscription service. However, Microsoft has instead taken a selective approach. Black Ops Cold War marks the sixth Call of Duty title to join the service, sitting alongside entries like Call of Duty: WWII, Call of Duty: Vanguard, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and Black Ops 6.
Additional titles are scheduled to arrive on Xbox Game Pass later in the month, including The Royal Writ and Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O World Stage on September 10, followed by RuneScape: Dragonwilds on September 15.
