CD Projekt Red is releasing The Witcher 3 Remastered on September 29, with a major expansion planned for 2027. Author Andrzej Sapkowski aims to finish a new novel by the end of 2027, and The Witcher 4, starring Ciri as the playable character, is scheduled

The Witcher franchise is getting substantial new content over the next several years, beginning this week with The Witcher 3 Remastered launching on September 29. The remaster is free for existing owners and includes technical and graphical updates, a reimagined skill system, expanded photo mode, improved combat, and a new transmog feature.
After the remaster, CD Projekt Red plans to release the expansion Songs of the Past in 2027. Originally targeted for 2026, the expansion was delayed to ensure quality. It takes Geralt to Letten, home of his bard companion Dandelion, and features a new main quest called "A Bed of Thorns" where Geralt meets Lilla, described as a potential love interest.
Also in 2027, author Andrzej Sapkowski plans to finish the next novel in The Witcher series. At the Copernicon event in Torun, Poland, Sapkowski stated he aims to complete the book by the end of 2027, though the release date after completion remains unclear. Sapkowski's timeline could shift, but a new novel is in development.
The Witcher 4 is scheduled for 2028 and marks a significant shift for the franchise. Ciri becomes the playable character instead of Geralt, though Geralt will appear in the game. CD Projekt Red previously announced plans to release a trilogy of Witcher games within a six-year window starting in 2028, suggesting The Witcher 5 and The Witcher 6 could arrive by 2034, though the studio has a history of delaying major releases.
Beyond these confirmed projects, CD Projekt Red is reportedly developing a multiplayer Witcher game that has undergone numerous changes and remains unshown publicly. The studio is also collaborating with Scopely on a mobile game based on one of its franchises, though whether it will be Witcher or Cyberpunk has not been confirmed.
