Well Dweller launches on PS5 with free demo and PlayStation Plus discount

Well Dweller has launched on PlayStation 5, published by Top Hat Studios and developed by Kyle Thompson. The game costs $19.99 on the PlayStation Store, though PlayStation Plus subscribers can purchase it for $16.99 through October 7, 2026.

A free demo is now available for anyone interested in sampling the game. Well Dweller is a hand-drawn Metroidvania set in a dark fairy-tale world. Players control Glimmer, a tiny bird armed with a matchstick, tasked with burning the wicked queen of a twisted kingdom to save his family before they become part of her royal gown.

Gameplay involves exploring a morbid landscape, battling beasts to earn new abilities, and collecting trinkets and allies that reveal the queendom's secrets and riddles. The game currently holds a 91 on Metacritic.

Well Dweller is available across multiple platforms: Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC via Steam and GOG, and PlayStation 5. Xbox Game Pass subscribers can access the game on Xbox and PC versions of the service. The game was first shown during Nintendo's Indie World showcase in August 2025.
