Ubisoft Added to Xbox Disc-to-Digital Program Following Media Reports

Ubisoft titles are starting to become compatible with Xbox's Disc-to-Digital program, arriving roughly 18 hours after initial media coverage noted the publisher's absence. Microsoft's Disc-to-Digital program lets players benefit from digital support features like Play Anywhere while keeping their physical media copies.

Following reports showing error messages that Ubisoft titles were unsupported, users on social media began noting that several Ubisoft games are now working with the program. Windows Central's Jez Corden also reported on the change, adding that he has it on good authority that additional publishers will be integrated into the program in the future.

The expansion of the Xbox Disc-to-Digital program is expected as it currently remains available exclusively to Xbox Insiders. Publishing partners typically need to ensure that their licensing agreements align and verify details before approving their titles for inclusion in the program. At the time of reporting, several other major publishers—including Bandai Namco, SEGA, and Square Enix—remained unavailable on the platform, though they may join as the service continues to evolve.
