TMNT: Splintered Fate Ver. 2.0 Update Adds Final Boss, Slash DLC, and Platinum Edition
Super Evil Megacorp has released the Ver. 2.0 'The King's Gambit' update for TMNT: Splintered Fate, bringing the main story to a close with a new Rat King boss fight, a new character DLC featuring Slash, and a Platinum Edition bundle.
Super Evil Megacorp has released the Ver. 2.0 update for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate, titled 'The King's Gambit.' Available now, this major content drop officially brings the game's main narrative campaign to a close by adding a final chapter, new levels, and an ultimate showdown against The Rat King. According to the developers and press releases, reaching this end-game encounter requires players to first defeat Shredder multiple times and successfully rescue Master Splinter. The Rat King boss fight tests players' reflexes by allowing him to summon other powerful bosses to fight alongside him as minions. Overcoming this challenge unlocks a brand-new game ending and story finale.
Alongside the free story update, the Ver. 2.0 release introduces several additions to the Home Lair, including an adorable new companion named Pepperoni (described in sources as a cute little dinosaur), fresh in-game challenges, and standard balance tweaks. A brand-new paid character DLC pack is also available, welcoming the fan-favorite mutant turtle Slash to the playable roster and bringing the total number of heroes to eight. Slash utilizes massive claws, physical strength, knockback abilities, and a natural affinity for Water and Ooze powers. He also features a signature 'Enraged' mode for temporary speed and attack boosts, a meteoric explosion tool, and five new build-augmenting Artifacts.
Furthermore, players can acquire the new Samurai Armor Pack, which provides outfits inspired by legendary warriors for all eight playable characters. For those looking to purchase everything at once, Super Evil Megacorp has launched a new Platinum Edition bundle that includes all previously released paid and free content. This comprehensive bundle features past character and content packs such as Casey Jones and the Junkyard Jam, Metalhead, and Alopex. Looking ahead, a retail Switch 2 Legendary Edition is scheduled to launch on October 27, with pre-orders currently open.
