The Last Caretaker Version 1.0 and Xbox Launch Scheduled for Spring 2027

Developer Channel37 has officially announced that the science-fiction survival-crafting game The Last Caretaker will exit Early Access and launch its version 1.0 update in the spring of 2027. Alongside the full release, the title will simultaneously arrive on Xbox and PC, complete with a day-one launch on Xbox Game Pass. Players eager to track the console release can already wishlist the game via the Xbox Store.

Since entering Early Access in November 2025, The Last Caretaker has achieved notable milestones, selling over 400,000 copies while engaging players for an average of 50 hours each within its submerged world. Throughout this development phase, the studio has rolled out seven updates, expanding the narrative and world through new vehicles, locations, quest lines, HoloMemories, and Cultural Memories. These additions delve into Earth's history and the events surrounding its flooded state, while orbiting human survivors interact through Committees and Project Eden.

Channel37 has continually refined performance, stability, usability, and gameplay systems based on player feedback during Early Access. Looking ahead, the studio's development roadmap outlines upcoming milestones, including Update 6.0 slated for PC in early October 2026. Antti Ilvessuo, Co-Founder and Creative Director at Channel37, emphasized that version 1.0 does not mark the conclusion of development. The team intends to continue expanding the experience with further content, systems, locations, and narrative updates following the official spring 2027 launch.
