Terranigma Returns January 14 2027 With Physical Gaia Edition And Quality-Of-Life Updates

Publisher Clear River Games has announced that the classic action RPG Terranigma will return on January 14, 2027. Originally developed by Quintet for the Super Nintendo and Super Famicom in 1995, the title is heading to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. Players looking to secure physical copies can now pre-order multiple physical versions through the official Clear River Games store.

The headline physical offering is the comprehensive Gaia Edition. This premium tier includes a boxed physical copy of the game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, or Nintendo Switch 2, alongside a soundtrack selection CD, a cloth world map, a 200-page art book, a pixel pin, and a steelbook casing. Its standout physical centerpiece is a mechanical music box styled after Pandora's Box, featuring a figure of the demon Yomi. Additional physical options include a SteelBook edition and foiled standard editions, while digital pre-orders and standard versions cater to a range of budgets across platforms.

Alongside the grand return, the rerelease introduces an array of modern features and quality-of-life additions. Players can experience a brand new Arranged Mode that introduces tweaked magic damage, a mini map, and the ability to save progress at any time. Further enhancements include a CRT filter, multiple aspect ratios, a quick magic button, item hot-swapping, customisable backgrounds, a music player, a museum, a rewind function, and remappable controls. For fans who missed out on the original release or want to revisit the classic adventure, the January launch provides a definitive way to experience Quintet's work on modern hardware.
