Tales of Eternia Remastered getting physical releases in Europe and Japan, digital-only in North America

Tales of Eternia Remastered will arrive as a physical release on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 in Europe and Japan on October 16, 2026, but North American players will be limited to digital purchases. Importing from other regions remains an option for stateside fans.

The physical releases come with a notable caveat for Switch 2 owners. The Switch 2 version uses a game-key card, while the standard Nintendo Switch version includes everything on the cartridge. This difference means Switch 2 players cannot expect the same physical media experience as previous handheld releases.

Tales of Eternia Remastered features the Aggressive Linear Motion Battle System (A-LMBS), which supports varied Artes, continuous combos, and party coordination in 2D combat. The remaster includes quality-of-life improvements such as destination markers, the ability to disable random encounters, and a high-speed mode during auto battles. Players can toggle between original and updated graphics and sound effects to match their preference.

Pre-orders for physical copies are available through Amazon UK, with international shipping to the United States. Japanese versions are also available for import pre-order. The game follows Reid Hershel and childhood friend Farah Oersted as they meet a mysterious girl named Meredy and discover that a cosmic collision called the Great Fall threatens two realms: Inferia and Celestia. The companions must harness elemental spirits known as Greater Craymels to save both worlds.
