Saros to Receive Free 'Zenith' Update Later This Year

Developer Housemarque has announced "Zenith," a free update for its shooter game Saros, during Sony's latest State of Play broadcast. Scheduled to release later in 2026, the upcoming update aims to expand the title's replayability with new modes, progression options, and accessibility features.

New Modes and Features

The Zenith update introduces two prominent gameplay modes designed for players who have already conquered the main campaign:

• Overlord Rush: A boss rush mode where players can battle the game's powerful Overlord enemies back-to-back. To emphasize Housemarque's signature arcade-style focus, this mode includes integrated online leaderboards allowing players to compete for high scores against others worldwide.
• Eclipse Layers: Serving as the game's New Game Plus mode, Eclipse Layers allows players to start the adventure again on a more challenging difficulty level. This mode includes further progression options for Arjun's capabilities, new "Carcosan Modifiers" to customize the experience, additional secrets, and new Trophies to earn.

Accessibility Improvements

In addition to the gameplay additions, Zenith will introduce several new accessibility options to accommodate more players. These features include gyro aiming support, a slow game speed option, and high-contrast visuals designed to improve visibility.

Saros is currently available exclusively for the PlayStation 5. While Housemarque has not announced a firm release date for the free Zenith update, it is scheduled to launch later this year.
