Saber Interactive Denies Working on Ori 3 With Xbox

Saber Interactive Chief Creative Officer Tim Willits has directly addressed and dismissed rumors suggesting that his studio is currently developing a new entry in the acclaimed platformer series, Ori 3. Ahead of Gamescom 2026, reports and speculation circulated claiming that an upcoming Xbox sequel reveal would be the third game in the franchise.

During an interview on Gamertag Radio with Danny Peña, host Danny Peña asked Tim Willits about the speculation linking Saber Interactive to the project. Willits quickly shut down the claim, stating clearly that the studio is not involved with the game. While he denied the studio's connection to the rumor, Willits praised Moon Studios' previous titles in the franchise, noting how the original games left a strong impression on him.

The original developer, Moon Studios, seemingly moved on from the franchise following the release of 2020's Ori and the Will of the Wisps, turning their focus toward the early access and eventual 1.0 launch of No Rest For The Wicked. Despite the official denial from Saber Interactive, industry watchers note that a denial does not automatically rule out the independent development of a third game by another team, leaving the true status of any potential sequel unconfirmed.

During the same interview, Willits noted that Saber Interactive has other upcoming titles in the pipeline, pointing to projects like Hellraiser: Revival and Stuntman: Hollywood while teasing that additional announcements from the studio are coming soon.
