Jagex Confirms RuneScape: Dragonwilds Will Be a Day One Xbox Game Pass Release
Jagex has officially announced that RuneScape: Dragonwilds will launch as a day one release on Xbox Game Pass when its 1.0 version arrives on September 15.
Jagex has officially confirmed that its breakout open-world survival crafting game, RuneScape: Dragonwilds, will launch as a day one title on Xbox Game Pass. The announcement marks a historic milestone, as it represents the very first time the beloved RuneScape franchise has ever appeared on an Xbox console in any form.
Although RuneScape: Dragonwilds has spent a year available in early access on PC—during which it accumulated over one million players and earned "Very Positive" reviews on Steam—Jagex is counting the September 15 launch as a true day one release due to the transition to its official 1.0 version. Set on RuneScape's forgotten continent of Ashenfall, where dragons have recently awakened, the co-op survival adventure invites players to gather, build, skill, and craft while working to face the ferocious Dragon Queen.
While the traditional point-and-click browser version of RuneScape has been enjoyed by players for over twenty years, this separate co-op title brings the iconic fantasy franchise to a console platform for the first time. The game will be available for Xbox Game Pass holders to play when it launches on September 15 later this year. Additional details, such as specific subscription tier requirements like Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass, are expected to be confirmed closer to the launch date.
