Jagex Working 'Flat-Out' To Fix Corrupted Saves In RuneScape: Dragonwilds On Consoles

RuneScape: Dragonwilds arrived on Xbox Game Pass as a day-one release in September, marking the first time the RuneScape franchise officially debuted on console. The co-op survival adventure, which launched at version 1.0 alongside its console debut after arriving on PC, has encountered a significant problem affecting some players.

Following the 1.0 release, Jagex identified an issue that corrupts player world saves on consoles. The developer issued a statement acknowledging the problem and outlining its response: "The entire QA and development teams are working flat-out to resolve this issue. We have some leads that we are investigating and it does look hopeful."

Jagex emphasized caution in deploying a fix, stating: "We do not want to deploy a patch that could potentially risk disconnecting you from your world, in turn introducing a risk of corrupting more saves. We are not comfortable committing to a release that we are not convinced will resolve this issue, or at the very least protect and prevent more players being affected by this problem."

The developer confirmed it is working directly with console platforms to gather additional information. "We want to reassure you that we are doing everything we can to resolve this, working directly with the console platforms to get more and more information. It just takes time for us to ensure we are doing the right thing," Jagex said.

Not all players have experienced the corrupted saves issue, suggesting it affects a subset of the player base. Jagex stated it is working to reduce risk to saves and progress while preparing a patch that can resolve the issue with minimal disruption once thoroughly tested.
