Rocket League Season 24 Launches September 23 with Honor Duels and Persona 5 Crossover

Rocket League Season 24 launches on September 23 across all platforms simultaneously. The update brings a significant competitive refresh alongside new cosmetic content and limited-time events designed to keep players engaged throughout the season.

The centerpiece of Season 24 is the Honor Duel system, a new 1v1 showdown mechanic that allows players to challenge opponents immediately after a regular match concludes. The spectating lobby can watch the confrontation unfold, making Honor Duel arguably the most competitive mode in Rocket League alongside Ranked play. This addition addresses long-standing player requests for more direct competitive opportunities.

After years of community feedback, the Black Market Trade-In feature arrives in Season 24. Players can now exchange duplicate Black Market items for new ones or painted variants they haven't collected, finally giving purpose to accumulated cosmetic inventory.

Presentation improvements enhance match recognition and player celebration. The MVP Focused Podium spotlights the match MVP by firing their goal explosion behind the team during end-of-match celebrations. Custom scoreboard mechanics better detail standout player performances, while control schemes receive overhauls particularly benefiting mouse-and-keyboard players with new free-look camera mechanics and evolved keybinds.

Season 24 launches with three Limited Time Events. Run It Up and Bullet Ball begin on September 23, with Run It Up featuring fourteen challenges and the new Nova Collection. Bullet Ball is a demolition-focused arena survival mode where a homing ball determines which players advance as the field narrows. The Persona 5 Royal crossover event arrives September 25, introducing cosmetics tied to the popular JRPG including Trickstar wheels, Morgana's Token Boost and Trail, the Phantom Thieves of Hearts universal decal, a Persona 5 Royal Octane decal, the TAKE YOUR HEART player title, and P5R avatar border and banner.

Additional season content includes Rocket Rivalry events themed around the Honor Duels system featuring prominent creators, a new Rocket Pass packed with cosmetics and collectibles, and creator drops throughout the season. A new Rocket Pass will provide the typical seasonal cosmetics and rewards for progressing players.

The update also includes quality-of-life improvements and better end-of-match celebration presentations designed to recognize player achievements more prominently.
