Immersive Sim RetroSpace Scheduled for October 2026 Release

RetroSpace, the 1970s-inspired space horror immersive sim from developer The Wild Gentlemen and publisher Kwalee, has secured an October 1, 2026 release date.

Developer The Wild Gentlemen and publisher Kwalee have officially announced that their upcoming space horror immersive sim, RetroSpace, will launch on October 1, 2026. Often described as a 1970s-styled take on titles like System Shock, the game casts players as a 3D-printed clone janitor trapped aboard a space station that has been swallowed by a sentient black hole.

Set aboard the retro-70s station named Aurora, players must navigate a metroidvania-style environment featuring a mostly peaceful central hub alongside various shortcuts, secret paths, and time-warping mechanics. Gameplay combines stealth, combat, and "discopunk" ingenuity as players face off against mutant plants, animals, and the station's own security systems. Protagonists can utilize "mutamods" to grow tentacles, possess creatures, or melt into shadows, though these enhancements risk damaging the player's mind and body.

As an immortal clone, players receive a fresh body whenever they perish, though subsequent clones may suffer from "degenerations" and require players to retrieve their gear from their previous corpses. The Wild Gentlemen are previously known for developing the Chicken Police series and Moses & Plato: Last Train to Clawville.
