Rayman Legends Retold launches with physical bonuses on PS5

Ubisoft is backing its Rayman remake with a robust physical release for PS5, offering bonuses that reflect a older approach to game packaging. The launch edition, priced at $39.99, ships with both Rayman Legends Retold and a copy of Rayman Origins Enhanced Edition on the same disc.

The physical box includes a printed Glade of Dreams map poster, three lithographs suitable for framing or pinning to a board, an exclusive slipcase, and bonus costumes for the game. These additions mark a deliberate effort to reward players who choose physical media over digital downloads.

The remake was delayed until 3 December, but the package represents solid value when accounting for two games and physical extras bundled together. Physical game releases have moved away from such inclusions in recent years, making this approach a notable exception. Push Square noted the rarity of publishers including tangible items alongside retail releases, suggesting such bonuses can build brand loyalty among players.

The timing arrives as Sony has signalled it will stop manufacturing PS5 discs by 2028, narrowing the window for physical releases on the platform.
