PUBG Mobile Returns to Asian Games 2026 with 12-Team Elite Finals in Japan
PUBG Mobile will feature as the sole battle-royale title at the 2026 Asian Games, with 12 regional teams competing for gold on September 28-29 in Aichi, Japan. The tournament marks the game's second appearance as an official medal event.

PUBG Mobile will host its elite regional championship at the 2026 Asian Games Esports Finals, taking place September 28-29 at the Aichi Sky Expo in Tokoname, Japan. Twelve of Asia's strongest teams will compete across two days for continental medals and national pride.
Eight of the twelve teams qualified through the 2026 Asian Games Esports Qualifiers held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Team Pakistan topped the qualifier standings, followed by Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Jordan, Uzbekistan, Myanmar, and Malaysia. The remaining four spots went to returning medalists from the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games: China, Republic of Korea, and Chinese Taipei, with hosts Team Japan rounding out the field.
The competition format spans six matches per day across both competition days. The first four matches each day will take place on the Erangel map, with the remaining two matches played on Miramar. Final rankings will be determined by combining placement and elimination points accumulated over the two days.
PUBG Mobile stands as the only battle-royale title competing at this year's Asian Games, with other prominent entries like Apex Legends and Call of Duty Warzone not selected for the event. The game's inclusion reflects its status as a major competitive esports title in the region. At the Esports World Cup 2026, PUBG Mobile ranked second by peak viewership, trailing only Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and outperforming League of Legends, Counter-Strike, and Free Fire.
This marks the second consecutive Asian Games where PUBG Mobile competes as an official medal event, following its debut at Hangzhou 2022. Defending gold medalists Team China will seek another championship, while Team Pakistan arrives with confidence after their qualifier victory. Team Japan will look to capitalize on home-ground advantage as the event takes place in their country.
