PS5 Welcome Hub Gets Animated The Last of Us Wallpaper

Sony has added a new animated The Last of Us wallpaper to the PS5's Welcome Hub, the customisable screen players see when booting their console.

The wallpaper combines artwork from The Last of Us 1 and The Last of Us 2, with animated details including flying birds and lightning flashes. The addition appears timed to coincide with The Last of Us Day celebrations, which are bringing partnerships and collaborations alongside Season 3 casting announcements.

The Welcome Hub, Sony's central dashboard customisation feature, recently gained a new widget displaying the most-played games on each PS5 console. Players can swap between available wallpapers, seasonal themes, and other visual options to personalise their experience.

The Last of Us franchise, developed by Naughty Dog, continues to expand beyond games into television adaptations and merchandise collaborations. This wallpaper addition marks another way Sony is integrating the series into the PS5 ecosystem.
