Pokemon Pokopia Bubbly Basin DLC Expands Lore and Catalog

The first downloadable content expansion for Pokemon Pokopia, titled Bubbly Basin, has arrived, bringing a new underwater biome, over 50 newcomer characters, and additional catalog items to the game. Designed to work with the new Dive ability, Bubbly Basin acts as a dedicated water-type home that serves as the dilapidated and weather disaster-struck version of Cerulean City in Kanto. The layout matches the familiar location, complete with a dilapidated Bike Shop and multiple references to Misty, her gym, her outfit, and human records.

The expansion introduces more than 50 new characters suited for the underwater environment, including Carvanha, Corsola, Horsea, Inkay, Luvdisc, and Wiglett, alongside water starters and their evolutions. In addition to characters, the DLC adds a variety of furniture options, featuring a Marine collection with chests, dressers, chairs, closets, sofas, and tables. It also includes shop display cases, ornate Asian-inspired furniture pieces, interior doors, sleek steps, and 12 new posters for wall decoration.

Furthermore, Bubbly Basin continues the main story of Pokemon Pokopia by offering supplemental insights into existing human records and referenced human characters, including a certain professor, without locking essential story beats away from base-game players who choose not to purchase the add-on. The content also features Deep Sea sections requiring lights to explore, as well as a Boosted Lapras with a Rock Smash element. Both Pokemon Pokopia and the Bubbly Basin DLC are available on the Switch 2.
