PlayStation Restores Access for Indie Developer Ternox Games, Securing Future Releases and Existing Catalog

Indie developer Ternox Games has announced that PlayStation has restored their developer account access, reversing a previous decision that threatened to remove all of the studio's titles from the platform. The turnaround comes just days after the developer revealed that their publishing and developer agreement had been unilaterally terminated by Sony without explanation.

Last week, Ternox Games shared that their upcoming retro-styled '80s Japanese stock market simulator, STONKS-9800, would no longer be released on the PlayStation 5. Furthermore, the studio stated at the time that their existing portfolio of games on the platform was scheduled for removal from the PlayStation Store following August 23. However, a new online update from the developer confirms that the situation has been completely resolved.

"Playstation has restored my access to the developer account and allowed me to continue working," Ternox Games shared in an update responding to the initial thread. "My games will remain available for purchase, and I'll keep releasing games for PlayStation as well!" The studio also expressed gratitude to fans for their overwhelming support throughout the ordeal.

While community members responding to the posts questioned the reasoning behind the initial termination, Ternox Games did not disclose specific details regarding why the publishing deal originally fell through. With access now fully restored, the upcoming PlayStation 5 launch of STONKS-9800—which currently boasts an "Overwhelmingly Positive" user rating on Steam—is back on track alongside the studio's broader catalog.
