PlayStation Plus October Games: F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896, Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2

PlayStation Plus members will have three new games to download starting October 6, available until November 2. The October lineup includes F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896, and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2, covering racing, competitive extraction gameplay, and squad-based action.

F1 25 is the official video game of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship. The game offers single-player Career mode and My Team 2.0, which lets players create their own F1 stories as the owner of a Formula 1 team. A new multiplayer mode called F1 World allows players to race as a squad against AI drivers alongside friends.

Hunt: Showdown 1896 represents a new era of the extraction shooter series. Players hunt for bounties alone or with up to two teammates in corrupted backwater environments, racing against competing hunters to track down bosses, eliminate them, and extract with their bounty. Other ruthless hunters and twisted monsters create a high-stakes PvEvP environment. The 1896 update overhauled the game's engine and introduced a new map.

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is a voxel-styled tactical shooter available on both PS5 and PS4. The game features a square Earth under attack by giant enemies, with teammates scattered around the world waiting rescue. Players select four teammates from their collection and customize their squad loadout before deploying to battle. The game includes soldiers from both the main EDF series and EDF spin-offs, plus redesigned voxel versions of enemies from previous releases alongside entirely new threats. Four-player online co-op and two-player local split-screen are supported on both systems.

PlayStation Plus members have until October 5 to claim September's games: Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life, and Chained Echoes.

Sony is also offering PlayStation Plus Exclusive Horror-themed item bundles for October. The Call of Duty: Warzone Horror Bundle becomes available October 1, followed by the Hunt: Showdown 1896 Starter Pack on October 6 and the Overwatch 2 Dragur Reinhardt plus 5 Tier skips Pack on October 7. Base games must be owned separately to access these cosmetic and progression items.

Additionally, PlayStation Plus members can claim limited-edition Spider-Man: Brand New Day avatars exclusively through Sony Pictures Core starting October 6. The promotion runs through October 20, with avatar voucher codes expiring October 6, 2027. Non-PlayStation Plus members must purchase Spider-Man: Brand New Day separately on Sony Pictures Core to receive the avatars.
