Palworld Update 1.0.4 Adds Two New Missions, Improves Fishing and Combat

Palworld has received update 1.0.4, bringing substantial new content and improvements to Pocketpair's survival game. The update introduces two new sub-missions tied to the World Tree storyline: one from an NPC at Fisherman's Point and a follow-up mission connected to it.

Combat improvements are a major focus of the update. Pals and base Pals have been adjusted to prioritize moves that deal the most damage, reducing the need for manual micromanagement during skirmishes. Mission-critical Pals and NPCs have also been changed to prevent them from falling asleep during important sequences.

Fishing has received significant adjustments across bodies of water around the World Tree and in Sunreach. The baseline difficulty for fishing has been lowered, reward values for different bait types have been altered, and a sliding scale for fish behavior during minigames now offers players more options for difficulty customization.

Quality-of-life improvements include material refunds when cancelling construction projects. Cancelled items now return directly to inventory, or to your feet if weight limits are exceeded. Pals and base Pals have also been refined to behave more efficiently when completing missions.

Pocketpair has confirmed that update 1.1 is in development and will address player feedback, though the studio cautioned not to expect massive overhauls. The developer characterized the 1.0 release as a "soft prologue" and indicated that the upcoming update will include features players have been requesting.
