Silver Lining Interactive and Square Glade Games have announced a major Wildlife update for Outbound, the cozy open-world adventure game. The update is now available on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.

The centerpiece is an expanded fauna ecosystem featuring 34 unique animal species across the game's four distinct biomes. Players can now visit the Wildlife Outpost in the first biome to craft a camera with professional-grade settings: Exposure/Brightness, Depth of Field focus points, Saturation, Contrast, and Zoom. Every photo saves directly to a library.

A new Wildlife Journal tracks discovered animals with previews to help players identify which species they haven't documented yet. The camera automatically detects animals in view, and framing and photographing a species logs it as 'collected' in a dedicated journal tab.

Static binoculars scattered across the world can now be used for long-distance viewing before players obtain the camera. Building options have been upgraded with a new solid wooden foundation featuring a closed wooden floor, available immediately without requiring a blueprint.

Quality-of-life improvements address community feedback, including a fishing interaction prompt that now appears only while standing still, keeping the HUD clean during exploration and wading. New collectibles include Kickstarter backer-designed charms and animal-shaped plant pots for decorating your mobile sanctuary.
