October 2026 Gaming Releases Pack a Crowded Month Before Grand Theft Auto 6
With GTA 6 launching in November, publishers have loaded October with major releases spanning action, RPG, horror, and racing genres. Dynasty Warriors 3 remaster, Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition, Ace Combat 8, and a dozen other titles compete for player

October 2026 shapes up as one of the year's most packed release windows, with publishers rushing to launch games before the November arrival of Grand Theft Auto 6. The stacked lineup spans multiple genres and platforms, offering players substantial variety across the month.
Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered launches October 1 across PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2. The remaster rebuilds the classic entry with Unreal Engine 5 graphics and refined gameplay mechanics. The original Dynasty Warriors 3 is considered a high point for the series, refining the musou formula of fighting overwhelming enemy numbers.
Also arriving October 1 is Ghost of Yotei: Complete Edition for PS5. The $70 package bundles the base game, the new Echoes of Sekigahara narrative expansion, the new combat-survival mode, Ghost of Yotei Legends co-op, and all Digital Deluxe Edition content.
Bandai Namco's Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve takes flight October 2 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The aerial-action title adds a first-person story mode alongside traditional dogfighting gameplay. Developer Project Aces aims to push the long-running franchise to new heights with the new entry.
Aion 2 arrives October 5 on PC, built on Unreal Engine 5 with a world developer NCSoft describes as up to 36 times larger than the original. Verticality is core to the MMORPG's design, with combat built around seamlessly chaining skills above and below ground. The game offers over 200 dungeons and an extensive character creator.
October 6 brings two major releases. Gears of War: E-day returns the franchise after seven years on PC and Xbox Series X|S, telling the story of humanity's first catastrophic encounter with the Locust. The campaign draws inspiration from horror elements in the original game with overhauled gameplay mechanics. A new multiplayer mode called Horde Siege tasks teams with accomplishing objectives while fighting the odds.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer also launches October 6 across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Developer Fuse Games blends roguelite progression with high-speed racing competition and Burnout-style gameplay influences. The game explores what Star Wars citizens do for entertainment beyond the conflict between major factions.
Hellraiser: Revival releases October 8 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2. Unlike recent horror franchise adaptations, this is a single-player survival game rather than multiplayer-focused. Developer Saber Interactive describes it as survival-horror with Resident Evil inspiration, centered on conflict with Pinhead and the Cenobites. The game aims for a raw, deliberately uncomfortable experience rooted in Clive Barker's source material.
Silver Pines launches the same day across PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and Switch. The metroidvania-inspired survival-horror title follows an investigator uncovering dark secrets in a small town. Atmospheric art direction and resource scarcity are central to the experience.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen arrives October 9 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2. Capcom's expanded sequel adds the abandoned region of Norgan and enhanced gameplay. Players join the enigmatic character Eir to investigate the secrets of the undying Fallen Dragon.
Legion Was Here launches October 13 on PC. The dark-comedy spy deduction game centers on stealing faces and impersonating targets to survive dangerous encounters, drawing inspiration from disguise mechanics in Mission: Impossible films.
Valor Mortis also releases October 13 across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Developer One More Level, creator of Ghostrunner, reimagines the Napoleonic Wars as a first-person soulslike. Mutated soldiers and challenging combat mechanics define the experience. The game is positioned as a lower-priced alternative to the $70 releases dominating the month.
