Hello Games has distributed update 7.04 for No Man's Sky, continuing its effort to stabilize the game following the Cosmos update. The patch addresses a substantial list of bug fixes affecting core gameplay systems and expedition progression.
Among the most significant fixes is the removal of a bug that limited the number of space stations a player could claim. The update also resolves an issue that could cause mission markers on the Space Anomaly to fail to load if the game was saved at that location, a problem that directly blocked player progression in certain cases.
The patch targets multiple memory-related issues, including several crash scenarios. Hello Games improved memory usage on Xbox One and Switch 2 specifically, and fixed crashes tied to audio threading and reload sequences. A rare hang during reload has also been addressed.
The Our Journey Continues expedition receives particular attention in this update. Fixes include preventing reward ships from incorrectly charging nanites, correcting text issues across multiple milestones, and resolving a problem that could trap players if they traded away their Multi-Tool before reaching the Beyond milestone. The patch also addresses an issue where Corvettes could teleport into and become stuck within legacy space stations during the expedition.
Other notable fixes include improving visual effects for the vintage Sentinel Interceptor ship, correcting creature taming and fishing mission availability during specific expedition phases, and resolving an issue that caused settlement productivity increases to actually decrease production rates. A particularly impactful fix addresses settlement debt that could suddenly spike to approximately 2 billion units, and multiple issues preventing settlement buildings from spawning construction terminals.
The Terrain Manipulator blueprint is now known by default, and players can add the vintage interceptor to their ship collection without exchanging it for another vessel. Portal visual effects now display correctly when activated, and deep-space points of interest no longer produce disproportionately huge explosions when destroyed.
The update also includes improvements to creature navigation and inverse kinematics, adjustments to corvette spawn locations when teleporting to space bases, and better collision detection for external Space Station decorations that could previously cause ships to bump into invisible barriers.
Update 7.04 is available across all platforms where No Man's Sky is supported.
