Nitrome has announced Super Leap Day for Nintendo Switch. The studio, known for Shovel Knight Dig and Bomb Chicken, did not confirm release timing for the new title.

Super Leap Day is a one-button precision action platformer designed for quick play sessions. The game generates a new level every day indefinitely. Players control different characters, each with unique abilities. Yolk serves as the starting hero and can be upgraded. Puffer floats high with an inflatable head. Sprout uses suction powers to traverse walls and ceilings, while Goop, a mysterious creature, offers sticky climbing abilities.

Power-ups found throughout levels include a tornado that covers spikes with snow and a pet that eats fruit and wildlife. Players collect coins to purchase additional power-ups and items from the in-game shop. Fruit can be converted into power-ups using fruit blenders discovered during play.

The game includes six bonus mini-games: Golf Day, Abseiling Day, Racing Day, Pinball Day, Fishing Day, and Rolling Day. Each mini-game contains 20 levels split across beginner, intermediate, advanced, and expert difficulties.

Multiplayer accommodates up to four players competing on any level. Unique multiplayer power-ups affect race dynamics, and players can skip checkpoints for time bonuses, though doing so risks being sent back to an earlier checkpoint. Completing levels rewards gold cups displayed on a calendar screen.
