Nintendo of America Announces Customer Appreciation Sale Powered by Tariff Refunds

Nintendo of America has announced a Customer Appreciation Sale that is described as one of the company's largest promotions ever. The event runs from September 13th through September 26th on the eShop, the online Nintendo Store, and with participating retail partners. Players can expect 30% off dozens of digital games and bundles, alongside savings on downloadable content, physical games, accessories, and amiibo figures.

According to a press release, the promotion stems from tariff-related refunds. Nintendo stated that while the company absorbed most tariff-related costs, the receipt of these refunds helped make the large-scale discounts possible. The company shared a statement thanking players for their continued support and inviting them to discover new adventures during the event.

Because the tariffs were US-centric and the press release surfaced on the Nintendo of America website, the promotion is expected to be exclusive to the United States region. Earlier in the year, Nintendo requested the dismissal of a lawsuit related to those same tariffs, arguing that consumers were not entitled to rebates because they received the exact products they paid for following price increases.
