Nintendo eShop Update Features Valheim, Mewgenics, and Mario Kart World Version 1.8.0

A fresh assortment of titles has arrived on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 platforms. Among the new arrivals is Valheim, a Viking exploration game where players can survive a monster-infested realm alone or with up to nine friends online. The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Valheim includes full optimization such as Joy-Con 2 mouse functionality support and HD rumble. Another notable release is Mewgenics, a roguelike tactics game from the creators of The Binding of Isaac and The End is Nigh, which challenges players to build and manage a cat army through generations.

Alongside new releases, updates have rolled out for existing titles. Mario Kart World has received a free update, Version 1.8.0, which allows players to select courses inspired by the original Super Mario Kart game in VS Race and Online Play modes. The update also introduces two new Knockout Tour routes named Propeller Rally and Turnip Rally, adds a Spectator Mode for groups playing via Online Play or LAN Play, and provides new filters for Photo Mode.

Several upcoming games are currently available for pre-order on the eShop. LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is scheduled to launch for Nintendo Switch 2 on September 18, allowing players to experience Bruce Wayne's journey from origin to legend. Additionally, Final Fantasy Resonance is slated for release on October 22 for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. This HD-2D title features turn-based battles and recruitable classic characters from across the mainline franchise.

Nintendo Switch Online members also have access to temporary Game Trials. EA SPORTS Madden NFL 27 is available for members to download and try at no additional cost until September 15. Furthermore, the Nintendo Music application has been updated with soundtracks from Paper Mario and a special release of the title theme from the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo Switch 2.
