NHL 27 Title Update 2 Adjusts Boarding and Charging Penalties
EA Sports releases the second major update for NHL 27 on September 29, tuning how boarding and charging penalties are called while fixing desync issues and adding new center-ice designs for multiple NHL teams.

EA Sports is adjusting how penalties work in NHL 27 with the arrival of Title Update 2 on September 29. The update's most significant gameplay change involves boarding and charging penalties, with EA tuning the thresholds for how these infractions are called during matches.
While EA has not disclosed the specific details of how these penalty thresholds have changed, the adjustment represents one of the few direct modifications to on-ice gameplay in this patch. Players will need to test the update once it goes live to see how the changes affect physical play and penalty frequency.
Beyond penalty adjustments, Title Update 2 addresses several stability issues across NHL 27's modes. World of Chel receives a fix for a possible desync that could occur following a penalty sequence in online gameplay. The update also corrects an issue where a player's arm or hand could twitch after releasing a pass while glide skating.
Hockey Ultimate Team gets a fix for a rare desync that could happen after a missed penalty shot in Wildcard mode. Ones mode receives a logic fix for AFK mode, while Connected Franchise gains multiple stability improvements including occasional crash fixes, Commissioner Tools corrections, and fixes for league invitation issues.
Connected Franchise also addresses problems with Goals Against stats tracking, Fill Lines placing players in incorrect positions, custom roster jersey assignments, and Player of the Game animations. Hockey Ultimate Team's extensive fix list covers Coaches, Strategies and Playbooks, the Auction House, Sets, line management, Objectives, Wildcard, Cup Chase and the Store.
World of Chel addresses occasional crashes including issues that could occur during EASHL Clubs matches and Club Practice sessions. The update also introduces updated center-ice designs for several NHL teams as the professional seasons begin, including the Buffalo Sabres, Anaheim Ducks, Carolina Hurricanes, Chicago Blackhawks, and Minnesota Wild. Multiple AHL, ECHL, OHL, QMJHL and WHL teams are also receiving refreshed center-ice designs.
