Nexon assures fans that Fareidolia won't impact Blue Archive development
Nexon's IO Division addresses player concerns about its upcoming 3D bishojo game Fareidolia, confirming the Blue Archive team continues to expand and that resource allocation will not affect the live-service RPG.

Nexon's IO Division has reassured players that its new 3D bishojo game Fareidolia will not disrupt Blue Archive's ongoing development. Fareidolia producer Min-seo Cha and Blue Archive general director Yong-ha Kim addressed fan concerns in a recent interview with INVEN.
Cha explained that when Fareidolia's project began internally, he committed to Kim that the Blue Archive development team would not be affected. "Very few developers moved from Blue Archive to Fareidolia, so the new project's impact has been virtually non-existent," he said.
The early stages of Fareidolia proved challenging due to the limited initial team size. The project only attracted additional development members after the overall IP direction was established. This allowed the team to form an organization that is both similar to and distinct from the Blue Archive team.
Kim reinforced the commitment, stating: "I want to reiterate that Fareidolia's development will not harm Blue Archive, and that the Blue Archive development team itself continues to expand."
While Fareidolia draws on lessons learned through Blue Archive's development, the two titles are designed as separate properties rather than as a successor relationship.
In Fareidolia, players take on the role of director of Anima City's restoration center, living alongside characters called Mates in a cozy isekai setting. The game features combat blending real-time and turn-based action. Fareidolia debuted with a playable demo during Tokyo Game Show 2026 (September 17-21) and is planned for release on PC, mobile, and consoles. An official release date has not been announced.
