Following the successful 2023 launch of the Soulslike game Lies of P, publisher Neowiz has registered a new trademark with the European Union Intellectual Property Office for a project titled Wonders of O. Tags included in the intellectual property notice cover interactive multimedia software for playing games and computer game software downloadable from global computer networks and wireless devices. These tags confirm the registration involves a video game.

The title follows a similar naming pattern to Lies of P. The letter O potentially references The Oz books series beginning with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum, which contains 14 books. This connection aligns with the post credits scene of Lies of P, which appeared to feature Dorothy, the heroine of the first few Oz books.

Developer Round8 previously confirmed that a sequel was in the works shortly after the release of the first title. An August documentary about Lies of P indicated that the next game aims for increased ambition and emotional depth compared to the original title. Director Choi Jiwon stated in the documentary that the internal team is giving everything to make the project the best it can be.
