Minecraft Live This Weekend Could Reveal First New Dimension in 15 Years
Mojang will host Minecraft Live on September 26, 2026, with speculation that the Sift dimension from Minecraft Dungeons 2 could be coming to the base game.

Minecraft Live returns this weekend with what could be the sandbox game's biggest update in over a decade. The broadcast begins September 26, 2026 at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM GMT / 7 PM CEST on Twitch, YouTube, or the official Minecraft Live website.
The announcement came after the Blue Creeper Battle, a promotional event that ran from September 17 through the Tokyo Game Show. Players faced off against soul-corrupted mobs and a massive Blue Creeper, with 1 million Corrupted Creeper Cape codes distributed as rewards and Twitch Drops.
A cinematic at the event's conclusion teased the Illagers discovering a portal to the Sift, a new dimension featured in the upcoming Minecraft Dungeons 2. Players are speculating whether the Sift could also arrive in the main Minecraft game. If so, it would be the first new dimension added since The End in 2011, making it among the most significant updates in the game's history.
Mojang has not detailed how long the broadcast will run or confirmed what announcements to expect. Details about the next update will be revealed during the livestream.
