Minecraft Dungeons 2 Launches on Xbox Game Pass Day One for Ultimate and PC Subscribers

Minecraft Dungeons 2 arrives on Xbox Game Pass as a day-one release for eligible subscribers on September 29. This follows Microsoft's standard practice of adding first-party Xbox releases to the service at launch, with limited exceptions like Call of Duty.

Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers will gain immediate access to the Standard Edition of Minecraft Dungeons 2 when it launches. Game Pass Premium subscribers can access the game within 12 months of release. Game Pass Essential does not currently have confirmed details regarding new releases or eventual inclusion.

The Standard Edition is the version available through Game Pass. Players interested in the Deluxe Edition, which includes two pieces of post-launch DLC and cosmetics, will need to purchase an upgrade separately. This mirrors the approach used for the original Minecraft Dungeons, where DLC required separate purchase outside the Game Pass subscription.

The sequel takes players across the Overworld and beyond in a fresh adventure. Those planning to jump in at launch can do so through their Game Pass subscription depending on their tier, or purchase the game outright.
