Mewgenics Xbox Store Page Goes Live Ahead of Gamescom

The official store page for Mewgenics went live on the Xbox Store on August 22, sparking speculation that a console launch is approaching. The tactical roguelike title initially launched on PC via Steam on February 10. Following its initial release, co-creator Edmund McMillen confirmed that the team was working on bringing the game to consoles. Although the Xbox Store listing features a basic description of the game, all other data on the page currently remains locked.

Upon its PC release, Mewgenics experienced significant success. Within its first week, player counts exceeded 100,000, temporarily surpassing Hades 2 as the most-played roguelike on record. The title reached an all-time peak of 115,428 concurrent players shortly after launch. Critical reception has also been strong, with the game holding an 88 overall score on Metacritic alongside an 8.2 user score.

While an official release date or announcement window has not been confirmed by developers, the Xbox Store listing arrives just ahead of Gamescom, where Xbox is expected to maintain a major presence. Whether further details regarding the potential Xbox port will be shared during the upcoming event remains to be seen.
