Mewgenics Listed on Xbox Store, Possible September Release Suggested

The critically acclaimed roguelike tactics game Mewgenics has appeared on the Xbox Store for Series X|S, with True Achievements pointing to a September 8 launch. The game from Edmund McMillen's team debuted on Steam in February 2026 to strong reviews.

The Xbox Store now lists Mewgenics for Xbox Series X and Series S, confirming the roguelike tactics game is headed to Microsoft's consoles. The store page does not display a release date, but the tracking site True Achievements indicates a September 8, 2026 launch window.

Developed by the creators of The Binding of Isaac and The End is Nigh, Mewgenics launched on Steam in February 2026 and earned a "Very Positive" user review rating alongside a Metacritic average of 88, placing it among the year's highest-rated titles. The game tasks players with building a cat army through tactical breeding, drafting abilities, collecting items, and manipulating genetics across generations in turn-based roguelike runs.

Industry observers note the Xbox Store listing appeared ahead of Gamescom 2026, where a formal announcement may occur during one of the week's showcases. Pure Xbox reported the listing on August 22, 2026, citing a post from known Xbox leaker Klobrille that included a screenshot of the store page.

The September 8 date attributed to True Achievements should be treated as unverified until confirmed by the publisher or platform holder. No pricing, file size, or Xbox Game Pass inclusion details have been disclosed.
