Metroid Dread hits number one on Switch eShop charts after Metroid Ravenous announcement

Metroid Dread has risen to the top of the Nintendo Switch eShop charts for the week of September 19, 2026, driven by renewed interest following the announcement of Metroid Ravenous.

The classic action game resurfaced in the rankings last week after the Metroid Ravenous reveal and has now climbed to number one. Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom secured the number two position, benefiting from Nintendo's ongoing Customer Appreciation Sale, which also boosted other titles throughout the charts.

The full eShop top 30 reflects a mix of recent and established Nintendo titles. Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 held the number three spot, while Super Mario Party Jamboree rounded out the top five at number four. Classic Zelda entries continued to perform well, with Zelda: Skyward Sword HD at number five and Zelda: Breath of the Wild at number eight.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Odyssey remained steady performers at numbers nine and ten respectively. Metroid Prime Remastered appeared at number fifteen, suggesting players are preparing for future Metroid releases.

In the download-only category, Super Mario Galaxy 2 led the rankings, followed by Pokemon FireRed and the indie title Little Witch in the Woods. Stardew Valley held steady in the top ten download-only games at number five.
