Atlus composer Shoji Meguro has discussed the creative process behind Metaphor: ReFantazio's soundtrack, which marks a departure from the high-energy pop and jazz styles of the Persona series into orchestral and fantastical territory.

Meguro explained that one significant challenge was managing battle music composition. "One of the challenges with Metaphor was that the length of each battle could vary quite a bit," he said, highlighting the technical considerations required when scoring dynamic combat sequences.

The Metaphor soundtrack features rhythmic chanting in its battle theme, melodic town music, and an intense anthem for traveling on the Gauntlet Runner. The composer's work on the score has resonated with players and is now receiving a larger platform through a dedicated orchestral tour.

Metaphor: ReFantazio's orchestral tour will feature a curated setlist performed by a full orchestra with vocals. The tour kicks off October 6 in Chicago, Illinois, and will travel to multiple locations including Los Angeles, Taiwan, London, and Paris. The tour represents an expansion of how video game music is being presented to audiences, bringing the game's soundtrack to concert stages across multiple continents.
