METAL SLUG Ultimate Collection Announced for Xbox with Ten Titles and Rare Location Test Build

SNK Corporation has announced the upcoming release of the METAL SLUG Ultimate Collection for Xbox. Marking the 30th anniversary of the franchise since its arcade debut in 1996, the compilation brings together ten titles spanning arcades, home consoles, and handheld platforms. Players can currently add the game to their wishlists on the Xbox Store.

Alongside the main lineup of classic games, the collection features the legendary location test build of the original title. This version was used for public arcade testing during development and was never officially released, allowing players to experience a rare piece of franchise history on a home console for the first time.

To make the experience more accessible for both veterans and newcomers, the package includes a range of adjustable settings. Players can modify button layouts, rapid-fire speed, difficulty, and time settings. Gameplay support features consist of infinite weapon ammo, mission selection, rewind, and quick save and load functions.

The collection also packs additional modes and bonus content designed for replayability. Combat School Mode includes instructor conversations that adapt depending on mission performance. Other additions comprise score and clear time rankings, a replay function, a visual gallery, and a sound player. Available features and modes vary by individual title as developers work to create a definitive celebration of the series.
