Metal Slug Ultimate Collection Brings Classics to PS5 Alongside a Brand New Game

Publisher SNK has officially announced Metal Slug Ultimate Collection, bringing a vast assortment of classic titles in the arcade shooter franchise to the PlayStation 5 alongside a brand new entry in the series. While the initial news emerged from a Nintendo Direct broadcast, a new trailer has confirmed that the comprehensive collection is heading to PS5.

Handled by retro re-release specialist studio M2, the upcoming collection features a substantial lineup of games, notably including the very first console release of the Metal Slug Location Test Build. To modernize the classic experience, the package includes online co-op, score and time attack modes complete with leaderboards, and a dedicated gallery mode.

Alongside the retro compilation, SNK briefly teased that a brand new Metal Slug game is officially in the works, though specific details regarding the upcoming title were not disclosed at the end of the trailer. Fans can look forward to the release of Metal Slug Ultimate Collection when it launches in 2027.
