Mega Man X: Command Mission Coming to PlayStation Plus Premium Classics Catalog

Sony Interactive Entertainment announced during the September 2026 State of Play stream that Capcom's spin-off role-playing game, Mega Man X: Command Mission, will join the PlayStation Plus Premium tier via the Classics Catalog. While the visual stream graphics indicated a broad window of later this year, the presentation's host verbally specified that the title arrives later this month, pointing to a September release.

Originally launched by Capcom as Rockman X: Command Mission in July 2004 for the PlayStation 2 and GameCube, the game features series staples such as X, Zero, and Axl alongside an entirely new roster of allies and foes. Following its Japanese debut, English localized versions arrived in North America in September 2004, followed by a European launch in November of the same year. According to available details, the upcoming subscription release will be based directly on the original PlayStation 2 version, making it playable on both modern PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 hardware.

Alongside this classic RPG addition, Sony Interactive Entertainment also revealed plans to bring survival horror title Dino Crisis 2 and the original Ratchet & Clank game into the Classics Catalog for Premium subscribers. The announcement was featured during both the English and Japanese official streams.
