Maneater 2 Announced for Switch 2, Coming 2027
Tripwire Interactive and Demiurge Studios revealed Maneater 2 during PlayStation's State of Play broadcast, with the open-water action-RPG now in development for Nintendo Switch 2 and scheduled for 2027.

Tripwire Interactive and Demiurge Studios announced Maneater 2 during a PlayStation State of Play broadcast this week, expanding the franchise to Nintendo's next console. The open-water action-RPG is now in development for Switch 2 with a 2027 release window.
The sequel transports players to Neptune's Kingdom, a luxury theme park and resort styled after the Roman Empire. Players assume the role of a bull shark navigating an aquatic sandbox filled with secrets, currents, dangers, and opportunities to hunt. The game's setting features an exclusive preview event for influential media personalities and content creators, while the shark encounters a fully realized environment shaped by the park's advanced marine research initiatives.
This marks a significant platform expansion for the series. The original Maneater launched on Nintendo Switch in 2020 following its 2018 debut on other platforms. At the time, the Switch version was described as a "ridiculous shark revenge fantasy," though some reviewers felt the port had limited depth.
Maneater 2 represents one of the early third-party announcements for Switch 2, signaling developer confidence in the platform's market position heading into 2027.
