Lufia 1 & 2 The Sinistrals Saga Collection Heading to Switch 2, PS5, and PC in 2027

Taito and Clear River Games have announced Lufia I & II The Sinistrals Saga, a collection bringing two beloved 1990s JRPGs to modern platforms in 2027. The compilation includes Lufia & the Fortress of Doom and Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals, both ported and enhanced for current hardware.

The collection will launch on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. Players can already add the game to their Steam wishlist.

Lufia & the Fortress of Doom follows a young man descended from a legendary hero alongside a young woman burdened by destiny. Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals serves as a prequel, telling the story of Maxim, a character who would become known as a legendary hero, as he and his companions battle against their fate.

According to Taito and Clear River Games, both games have been "ported lovingly and enhanced for modern play." The publishers describe the collection as featuring "moving storylines and memorable soundtracks" that resonated with players when the originals released decades ago.

The Lufia series originated on the Super Famicom in Japan during the 1990s and developed a dedicated following for its narrative depth and music composition. This collection marks a significant return for the franchise on current generation consoles.
