South Korea and Chinese Taipei will compete in the League of Legends gold medal match at the 2026 Asian Games on October 2. The best-of-5 series begins at 12 pm JST at the Aichi Sky Expo in Tokoname, Japan, marking a rematch of the final from the Hangzhou Games.

Both teams secured their spots through dominant semifinal performances on October 1. South Korea defeated Saudi Arabia 2-0, while Chinese Taipei beat Vietnam by the same scoreline. South Korea are the defending champions from the previous Asian Games.

The two nations also met during the group stage on September 30, with South Korea emerging victorious. Chinese Taipei finished second in Group B with a 2-1 record, losing only to South Korea but defeating Hong Kong and India. This will be Chinese Taipei's second consecutive appearance in the LoL final.

Eight national teams entered the League of Legends competition as part of the broader Asian Games event running from September 19 to October 4 across Nagoya and Aichi Prefecture. Vietnam and Saudi Arabia each receive bronze medals, as the tournament structure awards medals to both semifinal losers rather than holding a bronze medal match. Vietnam had finished fourth at the previous Asian Games.

The tournament uses a Hard Fearless Draft format where each champion can be picked only once by either team during a series. Matches are played on LoL patch 26.18, and players represent their countries rather than their usual esports organizations.

Regional broadcast partners handle coverage rather than the usual Riot Games streams. In India, matches air on Sony Sports Network with streaming via SonyLIV. South Korea viewers can watch on Asian Games SPOTV via Chzzk, though access outside the country requires a Korean VPN. United States audiences can watch through Willow TV on Sling or Amazon Prime Video. Viewers outside these regions should check their local Asian Games broadcaster for availability.
