Naughty Dog's Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet Won't Share Updates Until 2027

Naughty Dog has confirmed that Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will receive no updates through the end of 2026. Director Neil Druckmann announced the decision on the studio's website, explaining that the team will stay quiet to ensure the game receives the care it deserves.

Druckmann called Intergalactic the most ambitious project in Naughty Dog's history and said the studio intends to live up to expectations. The communication blackout means fans won't see new trailers or announcements at industry events like The Game Awards 2026.

The timing also avoids a marketing conflict with PlayStation's other major release. God of War: Laufey launches close to when PlayStation might otherwise promote Intergalactic, so delaying announcements prevents the two titles from competing for attention.

Naughty Dog last shared an update nearly a month prior, revealing that cinematic shooting had wrapped. Based on the studio's track record with other projects, completing the cinematic work at that stage could position the game for a 2027 launch, though the studio has not confirmed gameplay development progress.

When marketing resumes, the next Intergalactic trailer will likely debut at PlayStation's first State of Play event in 2027. PlayStation held its State of Play in February 2026, suggesting a similar timing could apply next year, pending Sony's official schedule announcement.
