HUASOPEEK Studies Top Entries to Improve 9z's Competitive Standing

Matias "HUASOPEEK" Ibañez Hernandez, the first Chilean player to win an HLTV MVP award, is actively studying elite entry fraggers to elevate his own play. Speaking ahead of 9z's campaign at FISSURE Playground 3 in Suzhou, the rifler explained his approach to improvement: "Now I'm looking at other entries, so I'm taking a lot of experience from how they do that job."

HUASOPEEK specifically cited Maksim "kyousuke" Lukin and Danil "donk" Kryshkovets as players whose entry techniques he monitors closely. "I see a lot of kyousuke, I think he's a good entry, and also donk. So yeah, I think that helps me a lot," he said. This focus on entry play reflects lessons learned at a previous tournament, where Cologne provided tactical insights into his role and positioning.

The MVP recognition, earned following 9z's victory at XSE Pro League Guangzhou 2026, generated significant attention in Chile, where professional Counter-Strike representation remains limited. Despite the individual accolade, HUASOPEEK maintains unchanged personal standards. "I think I have the same standards as always," he stated. "I always think and do my job in the game, inside the game. And I think that award doesn't change me because it's just an award and just that."

For 9z, immediate priorities are clear after consecutive group-stage eliminations. "Our objective is to reach the playoffs because we came from two tournaments where we lost in the group stage," HUASOPEEK said. The team recognizes that closing the gap to tier-one status requires consistent victories against established competitors. "These teams are hard for us, and to be a tier-one team, we need to win [against] these teams," he explained, referencing losses to squads like Magic at previous events.
