GTA 6 Gameplay Reveal Pulls 3.97 Million Peak Viewers Despite Outages

Reaction streams for Grand Theft Auto 6's first gameplay presentation peaked at nearly 4 million viewers, setting a 2026 streaming record while causing technical issues on Twitch and Netflix.

Reaction streams to the first gameplay presentation for Grand Theft Auto 6 peaked at 3,970,738 viewers across livestreaming platforms, establishing it as the biggest gaming stream of 2026 so far. According to data from Streams Charts, a total of 9,038 streamers covered the Rockstar Games and Netflix reveal, accumulating 5,227,798 hours watched. The broadcast surpassed Summer Game Fest 2026's peak of 3.81 million viewers, alongside June broadcasts for Nintendo Direct and State of Play.

Twitch captured the largest share of the audience with approximately 44 percent of total hours watched, followed by YouTube at 34.8 percent and Kick at 20.2 percent. Individual creators also drew massive audiences, led by Spanish streamer Juan Alberto "IlloJuan" García with 233,520 peak viewers—marking a personal channel record—followed by Rubius at 191,056 and IShowSpeed at 177,887.

Heavy viewer demand generated technical disruptions during the 8 pm UK time broadcast, locking some users out of Twitch and Netflix for 40 to 50 minutes. Streams Charts monitored over 100,000 chat messages during the analyzed three-hour window. Sentiment analysis indicated that 65 to 72 percent of messages were neutral, 11 to 15 percent were positive, and 17 to 20 percent were negative, with much of the criticism directed at the platform outages rather than the game itself.

The presentation disclosed various features for the upcoming title, including a new romance system, altered carjacking and Wanted mechanics, an extensive game world, and numerous in-game activities. Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled for release on November 19th for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
