Grand Theft Auto 6 will feature dynamic score and new in-game radio system

Rockstar Games has teased music innovations coming to Grand Theft Auto 6, including a dynamic score that adapts to gameplay and what it calls the next evolution of in-game radio.

Rockstar Games announced Grand Theft Auto 6: The Album, the official soundtrack for the upcoming open-world title, featuring artists including Travis Scott, Keith Richards, and Morgan Wallen on CD and vinyl.

Alongside the album announcement, Rockstar teased upcoming musical features for the game itself. The developer mentioned a dynamic score that responds to gameplay situations and transitions, plus what it describes as the next evolution of in-game radio.

The dynamic score concept is established in gaming. Titles like DOOM (2016), Hades, and Celeste have all featured adaptive soundtracks that change based on gameplay context or location shifts.

The in-game radio evolution remains less defined. Spotify has been advertising Grand Theft Auto 6's soundtrack, raising questions about potential in-game streaming integration. Some players speculate the feature could allow listening to music outside vehicles, a departure from how radio has traditionally worked in the series, where tracks were primarily confined to car interiors.

Grand Theft Auto 6 launches November 19 on Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick indicated that support for the current Grand Theft Auto Online will continue alongside the new title.
