Grand Theft Auto 6 First Gameplay Revealed via Netflix Extended Look

Rockstar Games has showcased the first gameplay footage of Grand Theft Auto 6 via an Extended Look on Netflix, highlighting a routine pick-up gone wrong featuring protagonists Jason and Lucia.

Rockstar Games has finally showcased gameplay for Grand Theft Auto 6 via an Extended Look on Netflix. The newly revealed footage provides fans with a detailed look at the mechanics, characters, and high-stakes narrative action expected when the title launches.

The sequence begins with protagonists Jason and Lucia heading to a club to pick up some "bricks" for Boobie Ike. After bypassing security, they access an upstairs area housing a drug lab. Following a brief greeting with a dog and an argument regarding why Boobie did not show up in person, it is revealed that the Vice City PD is en route. What appears to be a standard bust quickly escalates into a violent shootout as officers open fire immediately, even targeting those attempting to surrender. Refusing to end up on a slab, Jason returns fire, offering viewers a first look at the game's active gunplay.

During the confrontation, Jason asks Lucia to push up and cover him as a gang member violently throws an officer through a wall. The duo fights their way down a hallway, engaging threats that display realistic reactions when shot. Among the highlights is a slow-motion shot capturing a character's face taking a shotgun shell, which appears to chip their teeth. Jason and Lucia ultimately escape the scene by dropping out of a window, after which the footage transitions to focus on Lucia.

While it remains unclear whether this sequence is a story mission or a regular in-game activity, the showcase underscores the intense realism and atmosphere of the upcoming title. Grand Theft Auto 6 is officially set for release on November 19, 2026, for console platforms including PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with pre-loading scheduled to begin on November 12, 2026. Set in the fictional region of Leonida—loosely based on Florida—the game follows the criminal underworld perspectives of Jason Duval and Lucia.
