G2 Esports sweep TYLOO 2-0 to reach Group C winners' bracket at VALORANT Champions 2026
The North American roster defeated the Chinese hosts on Lotus and a second map to advance undefeated through their opening match at the Shanghai tournament.

G2 Esports swept TYLOO 2-0 in Shanghai to advance to the winners' bracket in Group C at VALORANT Champions 2026. The North American side defeated the Chinese host-region team across two maps, sending TYLOO to the lower bracket.
The series opened on Lotus with a closer match than the final scoreline suggested. TYLOO built an early lead on attack that energized the home Shanghai crowd, but G2 clawed back with strong defensive rounds to win 13-6. TYLOO strung together a mid-map run that briefly threatened an upset, but the momentum shift proved decisive as G2 carried it straight into the second map to close out the series.
G2's lineup of jawgemo, BABYBAY, trent, valyn, leaf and splash punched through to the winners' side without dropping a map. The result arrived against pre-event expectations, with TYLOO rated among the stronger sides in the field and supported by home-crowd advantage heading into the match, as Dot Esports reported.
The victory sent one of North America's better-regarded rosters through the opening round of a tournament carrying a $2.25 million prize pool. A clean 2-0 opener against a host-nation favorite reshapes pre-tournament assumptions about Group C's volatility. G2 advances to its next fixture on the winners' side, while TYLOO must win out in the lower bracket to stay in contention for the playoff round.
