G2 Esports Sweep Movistar KOI 3-0 to Claim Record 20th LEC Title
G2 Esports dominated the 2026 LEC Summer Grand Final in Nice, sweeping Movistar KOI without dropping a game to secure their 20th regional championship and complete a clean sweep of all three European titles this season.

G2 Esports claimed their record 20th LEC title on September 20, 2026, sweeping Movistar KOI 3-0 in the Summer Grand Final at the Palais Nikaïa in Nice, France. The dominant performance extended G2's reign over European League of Legends and capped a historic year in which the organisation won all three available regional championships.
G2 dispatched Movistar KOI with surgical precision across three games. Game 1 ended in 27 minutes and 58 seconds with G2 taking a 15-5 kill advantage. Game 2 lasted 31 minutes and 47 seconds, producing the series' highest kill count at 21-8 in G2's favour. Game 3 closed in 29 minutes and six seconds with G2 ahead 13-2 in kills. Across the entire series, G2 outscored their opponents 49-15 in kills while completing all three games in a combined 88 minutes and 51 seconds.
Support Lampros "Labrov" Papoutsakis earned Finals MVP honours after a near-flawless performance. Labrov died only twice across the entire series, recording a combined 7/2/34 statline across three games. He opened the final on Seraphine (2/0/12), followed with Lulu (2/2/18), and closed on Lux (3/0/4). His dominance on enchanter supports marked significant growth in a role he had previously struggled with.
The victory completes G2's sweep of European competitions in 2026. The organisation began the year by defeating Karmine Corp 3-2 in the LEC Versus final, then claimed the LEC Spring championship before Sunday's Summer triumph. This marks G2's fourth consecutive European title, extending their dominance from the 2025 Summer championship when they also defeated Movistar KOI 3-0 in the final.
For mid laner Rasmus "Caps" Winther, the victory marked his 18th European championship. Caps, recently inducted into League of Legends' Hall of Legends in August 2026 as the first Western player to receive the honour, first won European titles with Fnatic in 2018 before joining G2 in 2019. His championship record now spans the EU LCS era, the LEC structure, and multiple international campaigns including G2's 2019 Mid-Season Invitational victory.
G2's path to the final came through the upper bracket, with wins over Team Vitality (3-0) and Karmine Corp (3-1). Movistar KOI took a longer route after an opening upper-bracket loss, defeating Team Vitality (3-2), Natus Vincere (3-1), and Karmine Corp (3-0) in successive playoff weekends before facing G2 in the championship match.
The victory marks 20 out of 28 possible EMEA regional titles since G2 joined the EU LCS in 2016. As LEC's first seed, G2 will now represent Europe at the 2026 League of Legends World Championship in North America, carrying their domestic dominance into international competition. Movistar KOI also qualified for Worlds as Europe's second representative.
